Introduced by Chiara Gatti and Alessandro Biggio

Wednesday, 11 November 2026, 5:30 pm

On Wednesday, 11 November, at 5:30 pm, Isola di MAN in Nuoro will host a lecture by Professor Silvano Tagliagambe dedicated to Libro Bianco by Luigi Mazzarelli. The event will be introduced by Chiara Gatti and Alessandro Biggio.

The lecture is part of the exhibition programme paying tribute to the artist at MAN in Nuoro, marking the twentieth anniversary of the death of Luigi Mazzarelli (1940–2006). This anniversary offers an opportunity to revisit his work and reflect on the continuing relevance of an artistic research practice that holds an important place in the history of Sardinian and Italian art in the post-war period.

At the heart of the lecture will be Libro Bianco, whose rigorous complexity Silvano Tagliagambe will guide the audience through. Drawing on his perspective as a philosopher of science, the lecture will offer new tools for engaging with the work, exploring the questions it raises and appreciating its profound beauty. It will be an invitation to devote time and attention to its pages, to deepen our understanding of their meaning and discover their enduring capacity to speak to the present.

The lecture is intended to complement the exhibition experience with a moment of deeper exploration and shared reflection. Tagliagambe’s contribution will offer an opportunity to approach Mazzarelli’s artistic research from a philosophical perspective, providing the audience with further interpretative keys to the work of this compelling and groundbreaking figure. Through the dialogue between art and thought, MAN’s tribute also becomes an opportunity to renew interest in Mazzarelli’s legacy and its continuing presence in contemporary cultural debate.
