CALL_Places of Second Origin

17 Dec 2025

The selection process to identify the winning candidates for the residency Places of Second Origin, promoted by the MAN Museum of Nuoro in collaboration with the Monte Verità Foundation in Ascona, has now been completed.

A large number of applications were received, characterized by diverse backgrounds and a wide range of approaches and artistic languages. The submitted projects demonstrated a strong sensitivity to the interpretation of place and its historical, cultural, and symbolic dimensions, offering personal and original narratives. The selection favored proposals that were conceptually coherent with one another, while embracing the diversity of techniques and artistic practices, and rewarded the overall quality of the projects, the strength of the applicants’ motivations, and their aptitude for a residency experience grounded in thoughtful and in-depth reflection.

The jury, composed of Chiara Gatti, Nicoletta Mongini, Una Szeemann, Alessandro Biggio, and Elisabetta Masala, carefully reviewed the numerous submissions and is pleased to announce the selected artists:

SARDINIAN ARTISTS:
Giulia Camba
Roberto Casti
Chiara Cordeschi

SWISS ARTISTS:
Davide Barbieri
Massimiliano Rossetto
Miki Tallone

As outlined in the call, in May 2026 the Sardinian artists will spend two weeks at Monte Verità, while the Swiss artists will be hosted in residence in Nuoro. We are confident that this experience will offer a valuable opportunity for exchange and shared growth. Congratulations to all the selected artists!
