Thursday 14 – Saturday 16 September 2023
The call is addressed to students of artistic-humanistic disciplines and professionals in the field of contemporary art (artists, photographers, performers, musicians, architects and curators).
Within the framework of the project My name is Olympia , the workshop led by Alice Guareschi aims at the direct involvement of participants, stimulating them development of critical thinking, comparison and dialogue between disciplines. Starting with some food for thought that the work Je m’appelle Olympia, currently on display at MAN raises — including the idea of activation of a space, of latent memory of a place, Of secret life in the absence of entertainment, and the attention to the extraordinary potential of silence and emptiness — the work will be divided into different moments and spaces, starting from the museum to explore and involve other important points of the social and cultural fabric of the city, including the theater civic. The objective of the three days is to create a direct link between work, artist, museum and territory, in which participants, through their theoretical-practical knowledge and personal experience, can become active figures, bearers of a new gaze.
Je m’appelle Olympia is among the winning projects of PAC2021 – Plan for Contemporary Art, promoted by the General Directorate for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture.
