WALK. IN THE TRAVEL TERRITORIES

1 Dec 2022

Transhumance from the Gennargentu massif to the pastures of Nurra represented and still represents today an important opportunity for exchange and communication in the culture and agro-pastoral economy of Sardinia. This movement of people, flocks and herds along lines consolidated over time has generated a path that maintains great local and territorial relevance in the experiences of the communities that overlook it, as documented by the video and the cartographic processing of the territorial macro-areas. Davide Virdis’ photographs and Marco Iozzo’s documentary, trying to give expression and voice to these signs of the territory whose interpretation we may have lost, interpret the spaces and communities that preserve the memory of this culture. Retracing these traces, understanding the difficulties of crossings and passages is a training, knowledge and learning path that produces a renewed attention to the characteristics of the various territories and therefore a different, perhaps more attentive, way of inhabiting Sardinia.
