First appointment BiblioMANia

15 Sep 2022

The MAN announces a new calendar of public meetings dedicated to the world of publishing.

After the opening of a space intended for consultation of the museum library, which can welcome users every day into the idea of a museum to live in, where to read or even work, Thursday 15 September the first presentation of a series of seven will be held, scheduled until the end of October.

We therefore start with Professor Baingio Pinna, professor of the Department of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Sassari, author of the book Visual perception, il Mulino, 2021, and co-curator of the exhibition “Sensorama – The gaze, the things, the deceptions” underway at the MAN and based on his scientific research into illusions of the mind and the gaze.

In dialogue with the director of MAN Chiara Gatti, we will talk about vision science, starting from the pioneering studies of Gestalt psychologists, delving into the fascinating and futuristic domains of mathematics, neuroscience and artificial intelligence. Even the most well-known ones will be offered to the public perceptual illusions (some stand out along the exhibition route) capable of demonstrating the deceptions capable of seducing our eyes waiting for our brain to recognize its ambiguities.
